Proficient scholars recommend: Ask Us To Write My Paper And Get Professional Help In the article entitled What Makes a School Great, Newsweek magazine as of late handled the topic of what makes schools extraordinary. From an expansive perspective, the Newsweek scholars, in the wake of talking understudies and teachers, arrived at the general resolution that the best thing that a school can do in accomplishing enormity, or, in other words that the school gives the best instructive experience to the understudy, is that the school doesn't take a one size fits all way to deal with understudies. Not all understudies can arrive at their maximum capacity under indistinguishable conditions (Newsweek, 2007). Accordingly, having the option to give the sort of individualized instructive experience that expands the advantages of the school for every understudy requires a wide scope of ways to deal with understudies. In the Newsweek article, those methodologies were indicated as follows: Production of Good Citizens-Preparing the understudy to work viably in the consistently changing world that they will look in the wake of finishing school needs to incorporate the instructing of good citizenship, an educational plans that has been dismissed in late decades (Kantrowitz and Wingert, 2006). Along these lines, the best schools are carefully getting ready understudies for the working scene following secondary school through the contribution of school level courses, which additionally gives the open door for school destined understudies to be set up for the gauge of school coursework they are going to confront. Helping Boys and Girls Succeed Separately-By having some coursework where young men and young ladies are isolated, the instructive procedure isn't obstructed by the genders attempting to intrigue each other or something of that nature. This division likewise advances all the more socially assorted instruction, by permitting society to be where sexual orientation contrasts were before (National Association of Multicultural Education, n.d.). Stress Science and Technology-The universe of today requests that understudies be knowledgeable in the mechanical and logical territories of order, on the off chance that they are to contend internationally and arrive at their fullest potential, in whatever vocation or instructive way they decide to take. Connect with Everyone-Schools of yesterday picked uniquely to incorporate understudies of one racial or ethnic gathering, financial level, and obviously, those with a criminal past were barred. Starting late, notwithstanding, the schools that desire for significance have understood that by including understudies of numerous kinds into the school, their differing encounters, foundations, and aspirations could profit each understudy on the whole. Without barring anybody for reasons unknown, a school can incorporate different individuals who want to learn (National Association Of Multicultural Education, n.d.). End Greatness Revisited All things considered, the topic of what causes a school incredible to can be addressed precisely subsequent to taking a gander at the Newsweek article. For the most part, schools become extraordinary by planning understudies for the future, including all understudies paying little heed to foundation, and remembering that young men and young ladies need various educational programs at times. Furthermore, accentuating science, innovation and aesthetic sciences, just as the necessities of regular workers understudies are fundamental. At the point when these components are consolidated, a school would then be able to arrive at significance. References National Association of Multicultural Education. The framework and innovation will assist with securing information and data of the emergency clinic, for example, client subtleties, item data and budgetary data. The execution of the framework will assist with ensuring information just as managing the security issues (Bouwman, 2005). The emergency clinic has actualized versatile registering that will permit remote and remote access to data and information just as getting to individual information that is required for the treatment of the patient. The framework configuration is sufficient for incorporating the versatile stages that will expand the smooth progression of information. Notwithstanding, the usage of big business framework will guarantee security and protection of information and data of the emergency clinic (Barney, 2005). The progression of correspondence just as dealing with all the information and data is a lot of significant for an association. Principle Context ICT framework ICT implies Information and Communication Technology. ICT framework gives tremendous mechanical reaches to help the medical clinics in running solidly. These kinds of administrations are generally applicable to ordinary mechanics of the medical clinic and furthermore essential to this administration conveyance that is powerful. These likewise join execution, systems administration, equipment and programming. The new framework is as of now manufactured (Davies, 2008). In this manner, it joins versatile registering framework in the emergency clinic. Portable processing framework fuses in the present ICT foundation may take into consideration remote and remote access to data from the medical clinic. For the patient that who desires treatment in Hospital, it may just mean which they approach the individual data about their season of treatment from any place they are (Gifford, 2013). It likewise offers the patients with the specific treatment plans or information about their registration and for their next arrangement moreover. For the specialists who are working in this emergency clinic, this would encourage them to get to the clinical information of the patient as and afterward they are treating by others. This likewise communicates with the patients with the help of the portable stage. The greater part of the frameworks permitting electronic administration and filling of their clinically archived do exist join a couple of accessible items monetarily and a gigantic measure of programming advanced by medical clinics for their inside use (Hudson, 2002). In this unique circumstance, to create portable PCs, and furthermore associated by means of a remote system in their emergency clinic frameworks, and furthermore modernizing the clinical records of the patients with the refined answers for entrusted clinical information at this consideration of point. The framework will expand the progression of correspondence inside the emergency clinic. Undertaking Systems The medical clinic can execute venture asset arranging so as to help portable processing inside the emergency clinic. Cigarette Tar and How It Can Hurt You

Cigarette Tar and How It Can Hurt You Addiction Nicotine Use The Inside of Cigarettes Print How Cigarette Tar Can Hurt You The Toxic Chemicals in Cigarettes By Terry Martin facebook twitter Terry Martin quit smoking after 26 years and is now an advocate for those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction. Learn about our editorial policy Terry Martin Medically reviewed by Medically reviewed by Sanja Jelic, MD on January 29, 2017 Sanja Jelic, MD, is board-certified in sleep medicine, critical care medicine, pulmonary disease, and internal medicine.   Learn about our Medical Review Board Sanja Jelic, MD Updated on January 07, 2020 Martin Diebel / Getty Images More in Addiction Nicotine Use The Inside of Cigarettes After You Quit How to Quit Smoking Nicotine Withdrawal Smoking-Related Diseases Alcohol Use Addictive Behaviors Drug Use Coping and Recovery As of Dec. 20, 2019, the new legal age limit is 21 years old for purchasing cigarettes, cigars, or any other tobacco products in the U.S. Cigarette tar is a term used to describe the toxic chemical particles left behind by burning tobacco. This substance forms a tacky brown or yellow residue. It is not the same as tar used on road surfaces. Tobacco is best known for three major dangers: nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide. Nicotine is the chemical that causes addiction but it is the tar that is responsible for the biggest health risks, including many types of cancer.?? The Harmful Effects of the Chemicals in Cigarettes According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), tobacco smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals. The majority are found in the tar produced by smoking cigarettes. Two hundred fifty of those chemicalsâ€"including carbon monoxide, ammonia, and hydrogen cyanideâ€"are known to be harmful to smokers and people exposed to secondhand smoke. Of those, at least 70 are known to cause cancer.?? The tar in cigarette smoke builds up inside the lungs as it is inhaled.?? Over time, a healthy pink lung turns grey and eventually becomes black as more tar accumulates. The primary effect is that the tar paralyzes and can eventually kill  cilia in the lungs.?? Cilia are tiny, hair-like structures that line the trachea.  They help trap pollutants, but when theyre damaged, the toxins in tar can travel deeper into the lungs. Some of these toxins are released when you exhale or are coughed back out, but some settle and stay in the lungs. The tar does not just affect your lungs, though. From there, the toxins can be carried into the bloodstream and begin moving to other parts of your body. They can affect every organ in your body and beyond cancer, can lead to heart disease, diabetes, and even affect fertility.?? The most visible sign of tobacco tar is the yellow-brown staining on smokers fingers and teeth. Because smoke is drawn directly through the mouth, the tar can contribute to gum disease and oral cancer  as well.?? Light Cigarettes Are Not Healthier Cigarette filters were first added in the 1950s when it was reported that the tar in tobacco was associated with an increased risk of lung cancer. The idea was for  the filter to trap harmful tar and nicotine residues, but the design never worked as well as hoped. Plenty of toxins still made it through and into the smokers lungs, exposing them to the risks of smoking-related disease.?? Today, light, low, and mild descriptors on cigarette labels are no longer allowed in the United States without a  Modified Risk Tobacco Product order from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is extremely difficult to get.?? Cigarettes with a lower level of tar are referred to as low-yield cigarettes but are not less harmful. This was done so that smokers dont mistakenly think that these cigarette products are healthier than regular cigarettes. The filters in low-yield cigarettes also have more air holes than typical filters. This does not seem to do much good because many smokers inadvertently cover them up when holding a cigarette. According to NCI, research has shown that the risk level for lung cancer in smokers is virtually the same regardless of whether regular or low-yield cigarettes are smoked. Quite often, smokers will inhale more deeply and smoke more low-yield cigarettes to obtain the same amount of nicotine found in regular cigarettes.?? Additionally, current smokers face a greater risk of lung cancer than people who have never smoked or smokers who have quit, regardless of the tar level in their cigarettes. Risks of Thirdhand Smoke Over the years, there has been a lot of talk about secondhand smoke. Being in an environment with smokers has been proven to lead to a number of diseases and even a cause of strokes in some non-smokers. That is not the only harm, though. Scientists have identified additional risks associated with cigarette residue that lingers in closed environments where cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and rolling tobacco have been smoked. This health threat is called thirdhand smoke.?? Cigarette tar and thirdhand smoke contain many of the same chemicals. It is now understood that  the brown, tacky toxins left behind from smoke drawn through cigarette filters also settles on surfaces and stays put. In addition to the resins that make up cigarette tar, thirdhand smoke also includes airborne chemicals that remain in the air for a period of time after a cigarette has been smoked. Thirdhand smoke is dangerous for everyone who comes in contact with it. It is especially harmful to small children who may touch tainted surfaces and then put fingers into their mouths. Key Facts About Cigarettes Tar is present in any tobacco product that is burned. The level of tar increases as the item is burnt down. The last puffs on a cigarette can contain as much as twice the amount of tar as the first puffs.Tar in cigarette smoke paralyzes the cilia in the lungs and contributes to lung diseases such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and lung cancer. The concentration of tar in a cigarette determines its rating. High-tar cigarettes (regular or full-flavor) contained 15 milligrams (mg) or more of tar.  Medium-tar (light) cigarettes had 6 to 15 mg, and low-tar (extra-light or ultra-light) cigarettes contained 1 to 6 mg of tar.??The average amount of tar in cigarettes was lowered from 38 mg (and 2.7 mg nicotine)  in 1954 to 12 mg of tar and 0.95 mg of nicotine. It remains at that level today.?? A Word From Verywell Cigarette tar is poisonous and carcinogenic and is present wherever there is tobacco smoke. The best way to remove this danger from your life and those you love is to avoid indoor locations (including cars) where cigarettes are smoked. If you are a smoker yourself, consider stopping. When youre ready, there are a variety of resources available to help you on the journey to quit smoking.

Parent-Teacher Communication Strategies for Success

Maintaining parent-teacher communication throughout the school year is the key to student success. Research has shown that students do better in school when their parent or guardian is involved. Here is a list of ways to keep parents informed with their childs education and encourage them to get involved. Keeping Parents Informed To help open the lines of communication, keep parents involved in everything their child is doing in school. Keep them informed about school events, classroom procedures, educational strategies, assignment dates, behavior, academic progress, or anything school related. Utilize Technology — Technology is a great way to keep parents informed because it allows you to get information out quickly. With a class website you can post assignments, project due dates, events, extended learning opportunities, and explain what educational strategies you are using in the classroom. Providing your email is another quick way to communicate any information about your students progress or behavior issues. Parent Conferences — Face-to-face contact is the best way to communicate with parents and a lot of teachers choose this option as their main way to communicate. Its important to be flexible when scheduling conferences because some parents can only attend before or after school. During the conference its important to discuss academic progress and goals, what the student needs work on, and any concerns the parent has with their child or the education that they are being provided with. Open House — Open house or Back to School Night is another way to keep parents informed and make them feel welcome. Provide each parent with a packet of essential information they will need throughout the school year. Within the packet you can include: contact information, school or class website information, educational objectives for the year, classroom rules, etc. This is also a great time to encourage parents to become classroom volunteers, and share information about parent-teacher organizations that they can participate in. Progress Reports — Progress reports can be sent home weekly, monthly or a few times a year. This way of connecting gives parents tangible evidence of their childs academic progress. Its best to include your contact information in the progress report, just in case parents have any questions or comments about their childs progress. Monthly Newsletter — A newsletter is a simple way to keep parents informed with important information. Within in the newsletter you can include: monthly goals, school events, assignment due dates, extension activities, volunteer opportunities, etc. Getting Parents Involved A great way for parents to get involved in their childs education is to give them the opportunity to volunteer and become involved in school organizations. Some parents may say they are too busy, so make it easy and provide them with a variety of ways to get involved. When you give parents a list of choices, they can decide what works for them and their schedules. Create an Open-Door Policy — For working parents it can be hard to find the time to get involved in their childs education. By creating an open-door policy in your classroom it will give parents the opportunity to help out, or observe their child whenever it is convenient for them. Classroom Volunteers — In the beginning of the school year when you send home your welcome letter to students and parents, add a volunteer sign-up sheet to the packet. Also add it to the weekly or monthly newsletter to give parents the option to volunteer anytime throughout the school year. School Volunteers — There can never be enough eyes and ears to watch over the students. Schools would gladly accept any parent or guardian that would like to volunteer. Give parents the option to choose from any of the following: lunchroom monitor, crossing guard, tutor, library aid, concession stand worker for school events. The opportunities are endless. Parent-Teacher Organizations — A great way for parents to interact with the teacher and school outside of the classroom is to become involved in parent-teacher organizations. This is for the more dedicated parent who has the some extra time to spare. The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a national organization that is composed of parents and teachers who are dedicated to help maintain and improve student success.

The Roots of Artificial Intelligence Essay example

The Roots of Artificial Intelligence The roots of artificial intelligence can be traced back to ancient Greece with myths like that of Pygmalion, which incorporated the idea of an intelligent robot. These early thoughts soon developed into stories like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in 1818, which was the story of a monster created by man and brought to life. These stories make for interesting fireside tales and bedtime reading, but where did artificial intelligence truly get its start? Most scientists and historians would give this credit to â€Å"the father of artificial intelligence†1, John McCarthy. Soon after he finished his schooling, McCarthy moved out into the world to figure out how he would use his abilities for the rest of his life. His search soon ended after listening to a lecture at his alma mater, Cal Tech. In 1948, John heard â€Å"the renowned mathematical logician and computer designer John von Neumann deliver a paper on self-replicating automata—machines capable of creating copies of themselves†3, at the Hixon Symposium for Cerebral Mechanisms in Behavior at Cal Tech. â€Å"Von Neumann’s talk sparked McCarthy’s interest, and he began thinking about the relationship of human intelligence to machine intelligence.†4 McCarthy decided to study for his PhD at Princeton in 1949, where von Neumann was on the faculty. When he first arrived, McCarthy first attempted to model human intelligence in a machine; however, he was not satisfied with the results that he first received from the tests. 1. What do you think of Mr. Reynolds’ management methods in general? I think that Mr. We will write a custom essay sample on Image Case Study B2B or any similar topic only for you Order Now Reynolds’ management method is very trusting and his style is somewhat laissez-faire, making it a somewhat fragile system. Reynolds doesn’t require paperwork which is usually used to detail and keep track of each employee’s actions but instead relies on trust and maturity amongst the salespeople. Generally such a method is a very risky but it seems that the intensive training that the employees receive builds their notion of responsibility. Furthermore, Reynolds’ management method tends to shy away from â€Å"burdening† his employees with potential estimates and quota targets like many other companies but believes each worker is ambitious for the company and themselves. His use of rewards and contests are very desirable for the employees but are very costly to implement – Reynolds must really trust his employees to make a return to cover such expenses. I do admire Reynolds discussion approach: discuss all work-related problems weekly or daily if necessary by telephone with their managers. The openness of the workplace probably uses the communication to replace the paperwork, a very admirable relationship in my opinion. I think Reynolds’ has crafted a very unique system which, although currently is effective under his management, seems very delicate to implement elsewhere and is very burdening on the company’s budget. I would not recommend it be to be adopted by other managers unless there is a strong financial foundation. 2. Does he have a quota system? What are quotas used for? Reynolds does not have a specific quota system to manage his sales force or use them as targets for his employees, but he does use a quota system to figure out the monthly shipment schedule. Quotas are figures that act as an individual’s target within a set time period, derived from past performances and â€Å"potential† or expectations, and used as a benchmark for performance evaluations. Instead of a ‘quota’ system to evaluate, Reynolds uses a point system which is also dependent on one’s level of sales and uses it to rank employees based on their performance. The main difference, as perceived by Reynolds, is that the point system uses â€Å"personal objectives, not arbitrary quotas, to stimulate [his] salesmen. † 3. Do you think that the expenses of the US sales force are too high? I do think the expenses of the US sales force are too high. Reynolds’ incentives indeed are very creative and motivating, however, they are a bit too extreme and extravagant. I think it is possible for Reynolds to cut some of the costs whilst maintaining the same effect. For example, the Palm Springs convention could be cut by two days and top salesman and district manager can only go to one or two locations instead of three each year. This is the first example of Stanley's rage and brutality. Not only does throwing the radio out the window represent an impure demeanor, but so does beating your wife. During his entire rage during poker night he is not sober which leads to another problem. When he threw the radio out the window, he then immediately charged right at his wife, Stella. He was in such rage and he was so drunk that when he reached her he hit her in the face. Luckily, before he can get another blow off his friends grabbed him and pinned him to the floor. This action leads the reader to believe that he is a very brutal person and needs some psychological help to aid him to control his temper. This is another example of why Stanley is so brutal.Lastly, and the most evident action that leads the reader to believe that Stanley is very ferocious and rapacious is when he rapes Blanche Dubois. When Blanche finds out that Stanley has to spend the night at home because Stella did not give birth yet, she becomes wary and is alarmed at the thought that of being alone in the house alone with him is a scary thought. When Blanche tells Stanley that she has put Mitch in his place for being mean to her, Stanley explodes interror. Then Stanley retreats to the bathroom to put on his silk pajamas. When he comes out of the bathroom, Blanche is threatened by his words and she smashes a bottle on the table to use the sharp edge to fend him off. Stanley approaches her carefully, but Blanche swings at him and Stanley catches her arm and forces her to drop the weapon. She then collapses at his feet and he picks her up and carries her to the bedroom and rapes her. This event shows that Stanley is very brutal and avaricious because it shows that he was greedy to thefact that he could not just have one woman, and it also showed that he is very arrogant because he feels that now because he ?conquered? Blanche and he has won. In Conclusion, in The Street Car Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams, Stanley's brutality is evident throughout the entire course of the play. Clearly, his rape of Blanche, beating of Stella, and throwing the radio out the window are all examples of why Stanley is such a fierce and intimidating character in this play.
